Allegiant Air Introduces Non-stop Flights From Bangor to Tampa Bay Area

The low cost airline Allegiant Air has introduced a new nonstop jet service to Florida's Tampa Bay area from Bangor which will begin on 20th Novemebr 2009.

The airline company celebrates the new service to St. Petersburg International Airport with fares as low as $109.99 each way. The new scheduled service from Bangor International Airport will consist of two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays departing from Bangor at 6.00 pm and arriving at 9.40 pm. The flights leaving St Petersburg Airport will depart at 1.55 pm arriving in Bangor at 5.20 pm. (all flight times are local.)

Miami Intermodal Rental Car Center To Begin Operating Soon

Rental car companies are soon to begin operating from the new Miami Intermodal Center Rental Car Center. The 3.4million square foot hub next to Miami International Airport which has been likened to a shopping mall for rental cars is nearly complete and due to open in April.

Between October and then, the 16 rental car companies now operating in and near Miami Airport are to build out their spaces there.

Allegiant Air Adds Non-stop Flight From Grand Rapids to Fort Lauderdale

Starting November 13, Allegiant Air will add a third low-cost non-stop flight from Grand Rapids to Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida.

Florida is the top destination out of Grand Rapids, and Fort Lauderdale is a top 20 destination in the country. The airline company will be operating two flights a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Airtran Airways Introduces New Flights to Jamaica and the Bahamas Plus First Scheduled Service to Key West

AirTran Airways has recently released schedules for a new service to Nassau, Bahamas, and Montego Bay, Jamaica.The airline will begin flights to Nassau on December 17th, 2009, and to Montego Bay in Jamaica on February 11th 2010.

Both destinations will include non-stop flights from Atlanta,Baltimore/Washington, and Orlando with a connecting service from over 40 other AirTran cities.

AirTran Airways is already a leading carrier to winter sun destinations with flights to Cancun, Mexico, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Phoenix, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and nine cities in Florida. AirTran currently operates the largest low-fare carrier hub in Atlanta and offers flights to more destinations than any other carrier from Orlando Airport.

From December 17th, AirTran Airways will also be offering a non-stop service between Orlando and the Florida Keys famous Key West. The flights will run four times per week and will inaugurate the first scheduled service to Key West by a major low-cost carrier.

Flights are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Departures from Orlando International Airport are set for 11:30 a.m. with arrivals at Key West International Airport at 12:40 p.m. Return flights to Orlando are scheduled to depart Key West at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Orlando at 2:40

JetBlue Airways to link Montego bay with Orlando

JetBlue Airways has applied for permission from the government of Jamaica to begin offering a new route linking Montego Bay to Orlando. The airline company expects to begin a daily non-stop service from Orlando Airport to Montego Bay on February 8th, 2010.

Montego Bay will be the 23rd nonstop destination served by JetBlue from Central Florida, where the airline offers flights to eight other destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America, including Bogota, Colombia, Cancun, Mexico, Nassau, Bahamas, San Jose, Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Aguadilla, Ponce, San Juan and Puerto Rico.

Four Lane Higway Opens at Tampa Airport

A four lane divided highway has been opened to the public along the eastern boundary of Tampa Airport. The Higway links Hillsborough Avenue on the North and Ohio Avenue just south of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

The $21 million project will act as the primary North & South access for Tampa Airport's east side development area which will include the eventual relocation of the air cargo area and make room for the new North Terminal which is expected to be built around 2020.
